چکیده
Colonoscopies can be used for both interventional and dialogistic purposes. The use of colonoscopies is not without risk an awareness these risks, as well the clinical presentation risks / adverse effects, vital to ensure optimal patient care achieved throughout after procedure. We present a case 49-year-old who presented district general hospital within National Health Service (NHS) with diffuse abdominal pain haemodynamic instability following colonoscopy. A splenic artery injury was identified computerized tomography (CT) scan contrast, abdomen pelvis patient. resuscitated managed need surgical intervention in form targeted embolization. This highlights that high index suspicion should held by any presents or early key good outcomes.

Splenic injury following colonoscopy.
Splenic injury following colonoscopy is rare but can be fatal and easily overlooked. A case of colonoscopic splenic injury is presented to highlight its potentially fatal complication. The risk factors, underlying mechanism, possible measures of prevention, diagnosis, and treatment are also discussed.
متن کاملSuperselective splenic artery embolization for the management of splenic laceration following colonoscopy
Splenic injury is a rare complication following colonoscopy with fewer than 100 reported cases worldwide to date. We describe a case of splenic laceration presenting 5 days following diagnostic colonoscopy. Although hemodynamically stable, active contrast extravasation on contrast-enhanced multidetector computed tomography predicted likely failure of conservative management. Splenic artery angi...

Splenic perforation represents a rare complication of colonoscopy. In our report we have reviewed the experience reported in the world literature, including proposed mechanisms, risk factors for splenic perforation and available management options. We have also discussed our concerns for under reporting. We had a total of 4 cases of splenic perforation following colonoscopies at our centre. One...
متن کاملSplenic injury following elective colonoscopy: a rare complication
Splenic injury is an extremely rare, yet serious, complication related to colonoscopy. So far, less than 80 cases have been reported worldwide since 1970. With the increasing use of colonoscopy, endoscopists, surgeons and radiologists are more likely to encounter this unusual complication. Increased splenocolic adhesions, splenomegaly or underlying splenic disease might, inter alia, constitute ...
