Radiological consequence assessment for hypothetical nuclear explosion scenario using HotSpot

چکیده

In this study the influence of atmospheric conditions, release height and particle size are studied on radiological impact due to a hypothetical 15 KT nuclear explosion using HotSpot model. Simulations show that among different parameters, burst produces highest total effective dose (TED). It is found maximum TED about 4 orders higher for surface compared elevated explosions. The range acute doses (TED >0.25 Sv) extends up 10 km neutral stable conditions ground releases 5 unstable 600 m release. has been city type terrain reduces by 40% 80% in respectively flat terrain. with sizes indicate shine twice 100% RF particles 50% after 0.5 all conditions. from 6 both sizes. Consequence Assessment of Vapour cloud Explosion Involving Hydrogen Release

This work is concerned with the consequence analysis of vapour cloud explosion (VCE) due to accidental release of hydrogen (H2) from the hydrogen holder in a chloralkali plant. Hydrogen is highly flammable if released accidentally may lead to flash fire or VCE which has the potential to damage people, equipment and facilities in the vicinity of the hydrogen holder. The equivalent TNT, TNO multi...

Application of Fuzzy Fault Tree Analysis in Risk Assessment of Ammonia Tank Explosion Scenario

Introduction: Chemical industries often have risks for the environment and communities, due to the use of complex facilities and processes. Also, in the ammonia tanks, the probability of risk of explosion is high, owing to their specific characteristics. The aim of this study is to evaluate the risks of explosion scenario at the ammonia tank in the Kermanshah petrochemical complex Material and...

Analysing Parameter for Nuclear Explosion Using Digital Images

Nuclear explosion produce immediate and delayed destructive effects, so identifying parameters has become inevitable for detecting nuclear tests conducted anywhere in the world. The energy evolved in a nuclear explosion is enormous, which is the characteristic and hence a vital parameter for a nuclear explosion detection. The proposed technique is to compute energy evolved out of an atmospheric...

exLOPA for explosion risks assessment.

The European Union regulations require safety and health protection of workers who are potentially at risk from explosive atmosphere areas. According to the requirements, the operators of installations where potentially explosive atmosphere can occur are obliged to produce an explosion protection document. The key objective of this document is the assessment of explosion risks. This paper is co...
