Radioactivity and radionuclides in deciduous teeth formed before the Fukushima-Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant accident

چکیده
Abstract The Fukushima-Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant (FNPP) accident in March of 2011 released substantial amounts radionuclides into the environment. We collected 4,957 deciduous teeth formed children before Fukushima to obtain precise control data for after accident. Radioactivity was measured using imaging plates (IP) and epidemiologically assessed multivariate regression analysis. Additionally, we 90 Sr, 137 Cs, natural which might be present teeth. Epidemiological studies IP showed that amount radioactivity from prefecture similar reference prefectures. found artificial Sr were believed have originated past nuclear disasters, including 40 K daughter nuclides 238 U 232 Th series contributed generation also no evidence suggest originating FNPP significantly contaminated pre-existing This is first large-scale investigation findings will indispensable future accident, fall out over next several years more with radionuclides.

Several inquiries have been made to Ocean Networks Canada with regard to the fate and severity of oceanic contamination from the leakage of radioactive material into the Pacific Ocean as a result of the March 2011 damage to the Fukushima Dai-ichi Nuclear Power Plant (FNPP). There are on-going studies and assessments of the impacts on the ocean, primarily by the World Health Organization (1) [2]...
متن کامل135Cs activity and 135Cs/137Cs atom ratio in environmental samples before and after the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant accident
(135)Cs/(137)Cs is a potential tracer for radiocesium source identification. However, due to the challenge to measure (135)Cs, there were no (135)Cs data available for Japanese environmental samples before the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant (FDNPP) accident. It was only 3 years after the accident that limited (135)Cs values could be measured in heavily contaminated environmental samples....

We consider that the Great East Japan Earthquake was a combined disaster involving earthquake and tsunami as well as the release of radioactive materials into the environment (Fig. 1). Something I would like you to notice here is that among various disasters, a radiation nuclear disaster cannot be seen; it cannot be felt; in fact it cannot be detected without special devices. Because of that, t...

Pregnant and birth survey after the Great East Japan Earthquake and Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant accident In Fukushima Prefecture.
BACKGROUND On 11 March 2011, the Great East Japan Earthquake followed by a powerful tsunami hit the Pacific Coast of Northeast Japan and damaged Tokyo Electric Power Company's Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant, causing a radiation hazard in Fukushima Prefecture. The objective of this report is to describe some results of a questionnaire-based pregnancy and birth survey conducted by the Radi...
