چکیده
Marine sediment samples were collected along the Jeddah coast, Red Sea, Saudi Arabia, in order to assess radiation hazards and exposure human marine living organisms. Using collaborative techniques, grain size, mineralogical characteristics, natural radioactivity investigated. To examine influence of characteristics over distribution measured radionuclides, resulting data statistically processed by using multivariate analyses. 238U, 232Th, 40K levels specified be 19.50, 9.38, 403.31 Bq kg?1, respectively. Radionuclides distributions affected mud content, organic matter, heavy minerals index. The calculated risk parameters are within safe range lower than global average. Natural from these sediments is normal poses no significant radiological public or this coastline will have monitored on a regular basis avoid overexposure residents.

متن کاملBioactive Potential of Marine Macroalgae from the Central Red Sea (Saudi Arabia) Assessed by High-Throughput Imaging-Based Phenotypic Profiling
Marine algae represent an important source of novel natural products. While their bioactive potential has been studied to some extent, limited information is available on marine algae from the Red Sea. This study aimed at the broad discovery of new bioactivities from a collection of twelve macroalgal species from the Central Red Sea. We used imaging-based High-Content Screening (HCS) with a div...
متن کاملRadiological Hazard Resulting from Natural Radioactivity of Soil in East of Shazand Power Plant
Introduction: Nuclear radiation is potentially harmful to humans and soil contamination with radionuclides is the main source of human radiation exposure. These radionuclides can., enter to human body through the food chain. In this study, 34 soil samples were collected from between Arak city and Shazand Power Plant over 20 km length and analyzed. Materials and Methods: The specific activities ...
