Radiation exposure of microorganisms living in radioactive mineral springs

چکیده
The TIRAMISU collaboration gathers expertise from biologists, physicists, radiochemists and geologists within the Zone-Atelier Territoires Uranifères (ZATU) in France to study response of microorganisms living naturally radioactive mineral springs. Mineral springs are isolated ecosystems, extremely stable over geological time scales, which display different physicochemical radiological parameters compared their surroundings. Water sediment samples collected 27 volcanic Auvergne region (Massif Central, France) have been analyzed for microbial biodiversity radionuclide content. Among present, diatoms (a microalgae species), widely used as environmental bioindicators water quality, shown an exceptional abundance teratogenic forms most studied (radon activity up 3700 Bq/L). current work presents a first assessment dose received by inhabiting risk freshwater environments was estimated using ERICA tool. Most sampled were highly above threshold 10 mGy/h due large concentrations radium sediments (up 50 Bq/g). complete data on inputs Monte Carlo simulations at micro- (GATE) nano- (Geant4-DNA) scale order assess direct indirect damages diatom DNA.

study of khraghan (ghazvin) mineral springs
one of the natural resources in our country is mineral water that hasnot been used as it should, and can be found allover the country. kharaqhan hot water is located by the ghazvin-hamedan road. this spring is being used in a very primitive way and is the subject of this investigation. the analyses were carried on the field and in the laboratory by standard methods and the results are shown in ...
متن کاملEvaluation of Radiation Exposure Pattern and Radiation Absorbed Dose Resulting from Occupational Exposure of Anesthesiologists to Ionizing Radiation
Introduction: Little information is available concerning the radiation exposure of anesthesiologists, and no such data have previously been collected in Iran. This prospective study was performed to determine the amount of radiation exposure of anesthesiologists for the purpose of assessing whether or not dangerous levels of radiation exposures were being reached, and to identify factors that c...
متن کاملPerioperative radiation exposure in a pregnant woman
The perioperative imaging of a pregnant woman presents a unique challenge to orthopaedics surgeon as concern about the radiation risk to the embryo or fetus. This article highlights effect of radiation exposure on foetus.I would like to discuss about the amount of radiation exposure in a pregnant woman during fluoroscopic guided closed femoral Interlock nailing as radiation has significant...
متن کاملRadiological aspects of some Egyptian thermo-mineral springs.
In Egypt, nineteen water springs with temperatures exceeding 35 degrees C, which can be considered thermal waters, were reported. The radiological aspects of thermal water in three northern regions of Egypt (Gulf of Suez, Cairo, and Bahariya Oasis) were investigated. The activity concentrations of natural radionuclides of 226Ra, 40K, total uranium and 210Pb (210Po) in water samples were determi...
متن کاملRadiation exposure of the surgeons in sentinel lymph node biopsy
Background: Sentinel node biopsy (SLNB) is the standard of care for breast cancer treatment and it is getting wide acceptance in Iran. The radiation safety of the procedure has been investigated under controlled conditions, but the standard dose of radiotracer and techniques are not always observed in the community setting. The aim of this study was to assess the magnitude of the absor...
