Racial Equity for Culturally Specific Organizations: An Assets-Based Evidentiary Assessment

Culturally specific organizations have been missing out on the racial equity and cultural responsiveness initiatives that prominent in nonprofits government, both due to absence of relevant assessment tools, as well discourses within these which overlooked sector culturally subsequently provided a competitive advantage responsive organizations. This paper reports development organizational assessment, results four-site pilot study tool. The tool is based Delphi Consumer Voice two-part into assets their valuation by clients. Developed with input four serving range communities color, we confirmed Successful Families Tool achieves its objectives (centering primarily creating actionable insights quality improvement plans). Additional benefits emerged from pilot’s participants: an evidence-base for organization’s initiated, organization-wide identity strengthened, staff energized dialogues relationship deepening, motivation research evaluation captures fullness impacts be undertaken.
