QUIC Throughput and Fairness over Dual Connectivity

چکیده
Dual Connectivity (DC) is an important lower-layer feature accelerating the transition from 4G to 5G that also expected play role in standalone radio networks. However, even though packet reordering introduced by DC can significantly impact performance of upper-layer protocols, no prior work has studied on QUIC. In this paper, we present first such study. Using a series throughput and fairness experiments, show how QUIC affected different parameters, network conditions, whether implementation aims improve or reliability. Results for two implementations (aioquic, ngtcp2) congestion control algorithms (NewReno, CUBIC) are presented under both static highly time-varying conditions Our findings provide operators with insights understanding into impacts splitting traffic environment. With reasonably selected parameters increased UDP receive buffers, over performs similarly TCP achieves optimal symmetric link when not used duplication. The help modern users better end-to-end service deploying DC.

Modelling TCP Throughput and Fairness
Since TCP traffic is elastic, a fundamental issue is the behaviour of multiple TCP flows competing for bandwidth on a shared link. Motivated by the ubiquity of drop-tail queueing in current networks, our focus in this paper is on developing analytic models suited to characterising the throughput and fairness of competing TCP flows in drop-tail environments. Building on recent ideas from the the...
متن کاملTransport Protocol Throughput Fairness
Interest continues to grow in alternative transport protocols to the Transmission Control Protocol (TCP). These alternatives include protocols designed to give greater efficiency in high-speed, high-delay environments (so-called high-speed TCP variants), and protocols that provide congestion control without reliability. For the former category, along with the deployed base of ‘vanilla’ TCP – TC...
متن کاملOptimal Throughput Fairness Trade-offs for Downlink Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access over Fading Channels
Recently, non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) has attracted considerable interest as one of the 5G-defining techniques. However, as NOMA is intrinsically in favour of the transmission of strong users who are capable of carrying out successive decoding, judicious designs are required to guarantee user fairness. In this paper, a two-user downlink NOMA system over fading channels is considered. ...
متن کاملDual Queue with Optimal Queue Selection to Enhance Tcp Fairness over Wireless Networks
The performance of TCP in the presence of handoff is effectively enhanced by the two schemes discussed in chapter 5. The EPRN scheme executes immediate recovery of lost packets during handoff and maintains the throughput of protocol by keeping the congestion control parameters unaltered. It also classifies the packet loss using a simple heuristic and by measuring the end-to-end delay encountere...
متن کاملImproving Throughput and Fairness in WLANs through Dynamically Optimizing Backoff
Given the limited channel capacity in wireless LANs, it is important to achieve high throughput and good fairness through medium access control (MAC) schemes. Although many schemes have been proposed to enhance throughput or fairness of the original IEEE 802.11 standard, they either fail to consider both throughput and fairness, or to do so with complicated algorithms. In this paper, we propose...
