This urban history research addresses the historiographic gap on theme of ‘vecindades’ in city Chihuahua through identification, description, and analysis social function that they fulfilled between 1934 1971: satisfying housing deficit after intense migration from countryside to city. The sources used were maps, reports, government records, as well correspondence authorities people. At same time, some ways life developed within neighborhoods are described analyzed, perception society had about this type people who inhabited it testimony those lived with its inhabitants photographs attest existence.
