چکیده

Understanding the links between activity of supermassive black holes (SMBH) at centres galaxies and their host dark matter haloes is a key question in modern astrophysics. The final data release SDSS-IV eBOSS provides largest contemporary spectroscopic sample QSOs. Using this covering redshift interval $z=0.7-1.1$, we have measured clustering properties QSOs, Emission Line Galaxies (ELGs) Luminous Red (LRGs). We also fraction QSOs as function overdensity defined by galaxy population. these measurements, investigate how populate population, dark-matter underlying halo distribution. find that probability hosting QSO independent mass galaxy. about 60\% are hosted LRGs 20-40\% satellite galaxies. slight preference for to over central This connected distribution different types Based on our analysis, should be very broad haloes, occurrence modulated only efficiency formation processes.

Narcissistic men and women think they are so hot – But they are not

Narcissists think they are more knowledgeable, better leaders, and more attractive than others are. Higher narcissism scores in celebrities than in non-celebrities (Young & Pinsky, 2006) raise the question of whether narcissistic individuals actually are, to some degree, more knowledgeable or attractive than other individuals are. Because little research has investigated the degree to which nar...

Bayes Factors: What They Are and What They Are Not

Bayes factors have been ooered by Bayesians as alternatives to P-values (or significance probabilities) for testing hypotheses and for quantifying the degree to which observed data support or connict with a hypothesis. Schervish (1996) showed how the interpretation of P-values as measures of support suuers a certain logical aw. In this paper, we show how Bayes factors suuer that same aw. We inv...
