Quantum walks with quantum chaotic coins: Loschmidt echo, classical limit, and thermalization

چکیده

Coined discrete-time quantum walks are studied using simple deterministic dynamical systems as coins whose classical limit can range from being integrable to chaotic. It is shown that a Loschmidt echo-like fidelity plays central role, and when the coin chaotic this approximately characteristic function of random walker. Thus binomial distribution arises walk walker exhibits diffusive growth before eventually becoming ballistic. The coin-walker entanglement be logarithmic in time case many-body localization coupled kicked rotors, saturates value depends on relative space dimensions. In coin-dominated scenario, chaos thermalize typical states such at Haar averaged Page value, unlike walker-dominated atypical seem produced.

Quantum random walks with decoherent coins

Abstract The quantum random walk has been much studied recently, largely due to its highly nonclassical behavior. In this paper, we study one possible route to classical behavior for the discrete quantum walk on the line: the presence of decoherence in the quantum “coin” which drives the walk. We find exact analytical expressions for the time dependence of the first two moments of position, and...

Decoherence and Loschmidt echoes: Quantum against Classical

Studies of stability of quantum time evolution with respect to small variation in the Hamiltonian have attracted considerable interest in recent years [1–5]. Quite remarkable is the fact that the problem has been practically intact until 2001, with exception of experimental studies of the group of Pastawski [6] in the mid 1990’s. However, one has to mention the pioneering paper of Peres in 1984...

Quantum Walks driven by many coins

Abstract Quantum random walks have been much studied recently, largely due to their highly nonclassical behavior. In this paper, we study one possible route to classical behavior for the discrete quantum random walk on the line: the use of multiple quantum “coins” in order to diminish the effects of interference between paths. We find solutions to this system in terms of the single coin random ...

Thermalization in Many-Particle Quantum Walks

We present many-particle quantum walks on graphs. This study brings together the concepts of many-particles, multimode and indistinguishability to discrete quantum walks. Our scheme is independent of the topology of the graphs: linear, planar or spatial. We use the concepts of position field operators, adjacency matrix and the results of group theory to construct many particle systems on graphs...

The Loschmidt Echo in Classically Chaotic Systems: Quantum Chaos, Irreversibility and Decoherence

The Loschmidt echo (LE) is a measure of the sensitivity of quantum mechanics to perturbations in the evolution operator. It is defined as the overlap of two wave functions evolved from the same initial state but with slightly different Hamiltonians. Thus, it also serves as a quantification of irreversibility in quantum mechanics. In this thesis the LE is studied in systems that have a classical...
