Effective simulation methods are becoming critically essential for the analysis of integrated energy systems (IESs) to reveal interactions multiple carriers. The incorporation various technologies and numerous controllers make IES a heterogeneous system, which poses new challenges methods. This paper focuses on an with hybrid continuous-discrete properties characteristics. First, modified third-order quantized state system (MQSS3) method is proposed district heating (DHSs), in (QSS) time-discretized integration efficiently manage discrete control actions. Second, event-driven framework established integrate MQSS3 into electricity-heat (EH-IES). enables adoption most suitable models algorithms different accommodate IES. Case studies EH-IES maximum 80% PV penetration 210 buildings demonstrate that dynamic between DHS power distribution network accurately illustrated by methods, indicates highest efficiency. It also demonstrated results flexibility from can be utilized as demand-side resource support operation aspects such consuming surplus generations.
