Quantitative Understanding of the Environmental Effect on B10 Copper Alloy Corrosion in Seawater

Corrosion in natural seawater is difficult to simulate a laboratory due the slow rate and complexity of corrosion process which involves multiple influential factors. This paper aims explore quantitative effect environmental factors on find best experimental conditions represent actual environment have acceleration effect. A new framework followed this consists three parts: design experiments, outdoor tests, mechanism consistency confirmation. L6(31 × 22) orthogonal experiment designed study temperature, salinity, dissolved oxygen marine behavior B10 copper alloy. In each test, H2O2 added accelerate process. Outdoor exposure tests are also conducted seawater. Results show that follows same mechanism, view product morphology, kinetics, as well mechanical properties. With help analysis test results, better condition can be designed.
