چکیده
Accurate and swift tuning of joint impedance is crucial to perform movement interaction with our environment. Time-varying system identification enables quantification during movement. Many methods have been developed over the years, each their own mathematical approach underlying assumptions. Yet, for impedance, a systematic comparison revealing method's unique strengths weaknesses, lacking. Here, we propose quantitative framework compare these methods. The used review five time-varying using both simulated data experimental data. These included three time-domain methods: ensemble, short segment, basis impulse response function; two frequency-domain ensemble spectral, kernel-based regression. In simulation study, stiffness – static component was as square wave mimic most extreme case behavior. results were compared based on (1) variance accounted (VAF), (2) bias, (3) random, (4) total estimation error respect stiffness; (5) rise time between levels. human ankle identified. Identification performance variability in estimating representative random VAF. metrics revealed distinct properties method. Therefore, researchers must make well-justified decision which method appropriate application. combination work extensive creates assessment newly

Linear Parameter Varying Identification of Dynamic Joint Stiffness during Time-Varying Voluntary Contractions
Dynamic joint stiffness is a dynamic, nonlinear relationship between the position of a joint and the torque acting about it, which can be used to describe the biomechanics of the joint and associated limb(s). This paper models and quantifies changes in ankle dynamic stiffness and its individual elements, intrinsic and reflex stiffness, in healthy human subjects during isometric, time-varying (T...

In this paper we consider linear, lumped, finite networks composed of interconnections of time-variable and passive resistances, capacitances, inductances, gyrators and transformers. We assume an impedance matrix port description of the network is given and solve the problem of synthesising the impedance, that is, we determine a set of passive elements and a scheme of interconnection which yiel...

the rationale behind the present study is that particular learning strategies produce more effective results when applied together. the present study tried to investigate the efficiency of the semantic-context strategy alone with a technique called, keyword method. to clarify the point, the current study seeked to find answer to the following question: are the keyword and semantic-context metho...

Robotic assistive devices have been proposed as a costeffective, repeatable alternative to conventional physical therapy. Recent successes in rehabilitative robotics for poststroke gait therapy [1] are due to a focus on the patient’s active engagement in the therapy. One quantitative measure of active engagement, muscle activity, is a highly non-linear signal that varies greatly between subject...
متن کاملIdentification of a linear time-varying system using Haar wavelet
In this paper, Haar wavelet based identification of a continuous-time linear time-varying (LTV) system is proposed. For that purpose, input and output data are analyzed to derive an algebraic equation, leading to estimation of Haar wavelet coefficients for the impulse response. Finally, it is demonstrated that an LTV system can be effectively identified by solving the algebraic equation and by ...
