چکیده

Abstract In eggplant microspore embryogenesis, embryos are produced and then transformed into undifferentiated calli, instead of developing as true embryos. This is the main current bottleneck that precludes this process from being efficient. work we aimed to shed light on factors involved in successful vitro development haploid by evaluating role growth regulators (GRs) process. We analyzed endogenous levels different GRs, including auxins, cytokinins gibberelins, well salicylic, jasmonic abscisic acid, microspores microspore-derived at culture stages. also same GR profiles leaf anther wall tissues backgrounds. Finally, assessed application combinations medium. Our results showed there no genotype-specific can be associated a high embryogenic response. Instead, response seems related accumulation patterns during culture. The changes observed salicylic acid were not embryo transition. There were, however, indole acetic dihydrozeatin. best combination promote callus production was 0.5 mg/L 1-naphthaleneacetic (NAA) 6-benzylaminopurine (BAP). A 20% reduction NAA BAP reduced but structures more anatomically similar These GRs cultures.

Mapping Quantitative Trait Loci Affecting Biochemical and Morphological Fruit Properties in Eggplant (Solanum melongena L.)

Eggplant berries are a source of health-promoting metabolites including antioxidant and nutraceutical compounds, mainly anthocyanins and chlorogenic acid; however, they also contain some anti-nutritional compounds such as steroidal glycoalkaloids (SGA) and saponins, which are responsible for the bitter taste of the flesh and with potential toxic effects on humans. Up to now, Quantitative Trait ...

GENETIC DIVERGENCE ANALYSIS IN EGGPLANT ( Solanum melongena L . )

Genetic divergence among 19 eggplant genotypes was estimated using Mahalanobis’s D statistic. Altogether five clusters were formed. Cluster I contained the highest number of genotypes (7) and cluster IV and V contained the lowest (2). The pattern of distribution of genotypes from different geographical locations into five clusters was random, demonstrating that geographical isolation may not be...

Agrobacterium Mediated Genetic Transformation of Eggplant (Solanum Melongena L.)

An efficient variety-independent method for producing transgenic eggplants (Solanum melongena L.) via Agrobacterium tumefaciens-mediated genetic transformation was developed. Two weeks old cotyledon explants were transformed by co-cultivation with Agrobacterium tumefaciens strain LBA4404 harboring a binary vector pVDH65 carrying the reporter gene β-glucuronidase intron (GUS-INT) and the marker ...

Molecular diversity analysis of eggplant (Solanum melongena) genetic resources.

Eggplant (Solanum melongena), a vegetable that is cultivated worldwide, is of considerable importance to agriculture in China. We analyzed the diversity of this plant using inter-simple sequence repeat (ISSR) and RAPD procedures to subdivide 143 Chinese-cultivated eggplants based on coefficient of parentage, genetic diversity index (GDI) and canonical discriminant analysis. ISSR markers were mo...

PLANT REGENERATION IN EGGPLANT (Solanum melongena L.) A REVIEW

Eggplant is highly responsive to various tissue culture techniques. Somatic embryogenesis and direct organogenesis are widely studied protocols in this crop, but potential of regeneration varies with genotype, explant and culture media supplemented with different combination and concentration of growth hormones. The genotype is the most important factor affecting somatic embryogenesis and organ...
