Quantifying Osmotic Stress and Temperature Effects on Germination and Seedlings Growth of Fenugreek (Trigonella foenum-graecum L.) via Hydrothermal Time Model

چکیده
Germination models are really useful in predicting seed germination, attributed to their application economic crop management. Hence, we evaluated cardinal temperatures (Ts), germination behavior, and model coefficients of fenugreek under varying (Ts; 10, 20, 30, 40 °C) water potentials (ψs 0, −0.01, −0.02, −0.05 MPa). We observed that the maximum minimum hydrotime constant (θH) values at 20 °C, respectively. The base potential 50 percentiles (Ψb 50) exhibited an asymmetrical pattern with highest (−0.9 MPa) value computed °C lowest (−0.13 10 °C. Furthermore, ceiling temperature (TC), (Tb), optimal (To) Fenugreek were determined be 34.5 7.8 18 In addition, index, rate percentage, energy, Timson vigor index I II, root-shoot ratio MPa Based on our findings, suggest hydrothermal time (HTT) can used explore independent synergistic effects both T ψ seeds different environmental conditions. obtained indicate is temperature-sensitive suitable for agriculture irrigated regions.

Effect of Soaking and Germination on Nutrient and Antinutrient Contents of Fenugreek (trigonella Foenum Graecum L.)
Fenugreek seeds (raw, soaked and germinated) were analyzed for their chemical composition. Raw fenugreek seeds contained higher amount of dietary jiber 46.50% followed by 42.12% in soaked seeds and 32.50% in germinated seeds. Soaking reduced the level of total soluble sugars, reducing sugars, nonreducing sugars, dietary fiber and improved the protein and starch digestibility and availability of...
متن کاملInfluence of Different Seeding Dates on Fenugreek (Trigonella foenum-graecum L.) Forage Yield and Nutritive Value
Fenugreek (Trigonella foenum-graecum L.) is used as medicinal plant in many Asian countries and has been reported to have forage quality similar to alfalfa. Fenugreek is an annual crop and may have the potential to diversify forage production systems in the central High Plains. This study evaluated forage dry matter (DM) production and the nutritive value of three fenugreek cultivars as influen...
متن کاملIn vitro estrogenic activities of fenugreek Trigonella foenum graecum seeds.
BACKGROUND & OBJECTIVES Trigonella foenum graecum commonly known as fenugreek, has been widely cultivated in Asia, Africa and Mediterranean countries for the edible and medicinal values of its seeds. Earlier reports show that fenugreek seeds provide a mastogenic effect resulting in enhanced breast size. However, very little is known about its estrogenic effect. The present study investigated th...
متن کاملEvaluation of Iinhibition Effect of ZnO Nanoparticles Concentration regarding Seed Germination and Seedling Growth of Fenugreek (Trigonella foenum-graecum L.)
A laboratory trial was conducted to determine whether suspensions of ZnO nanoparticles (ZnO NPs) could interfere with the early growth of fenugreek. This plant species is one of the recommended species by Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). Nine concentrations of ZnO NPs (10, 50, 100, 500, 1000, 2000, 3000, 4000, and 5000 mg/L) were prepared in deionized )DI( water (co...
متن کاملEffect of fenugreek (Trigonella foenum-graecum L.) intake on glycemia: a meta-analysis of clinical trials
BACKGROUND AND AIM Fenugreek is a herb that is widely used in cooking and as a traditional medicine for diabetes in Asia. It has been shown to acutely lower postprandial glucose levels, but the long-term effect on glycemia remains uncertain. We systematically reviewed clinical trials of the effect of fenugreek intake on markers of glucose homeostasis. METHODS PubMed, SCOPUS, the Cochrane Tria...
