Quantifying Interactive Cooling Effects of Morphological Parameters and Vegetation-Related Landscape Features during an Extreme Heat Event

In this study, we apply the ENVI-met model to evaluate effects of combinations morphological and vegetation-related landscape features on urban temperatures thermal comfort. We simulated conditions 126 scenarios, varying aspect ratios street canyons, vegetation cover density, surface materials, orientations toward prevalent winds under an extreme heat situation. Our results show how physical parameters interact moderate each other. also demonstrate sensitive comfort indices such as temperature relative humidity are built environment during different hours a day. This study’s findings highlight necessity prioritizing mitigation interventions based site’s characteristics avoiding generic strategies for all types environments.
