چکیده
Background/Aim. Impaired vision resulting from glaucoma can have deleterious effects on both physical and mental health. This study aims at examining the adverse impacts of primary open angle (POAG), closure (PACG) pseudoexfoliation (PEG) quality life (QOL). Methods. research, designed as a cross-sectional study, included 102 patients treated for POAG, PACG, or PEG. The were divided into three groups based type they suffered monitored 6 months. data QOL collected with National Eye Institute Visual Functioning Questionnaire 25 (NEI VFQ-25). total NEI VFQ-25 scores calculated each group. Results. general was significantly lower in PEG group than remaining (PEG 61.1 ? 12.6, POAG 71.6 17.9, PACG 75.7 11.6), p < 0.001. also demonstrated least favorable levels health, eye pain, distance vision, social functioning, peripheral disability daily activities, dependence others. highest value near recorded (76.2 21.2). mean glaucomatous visual field defect (14.5 3.6 dB). Conclusion. research demonstrates that is suffering compared to those who suffer PACG. In patients, lowest everyday functioning. results indicate serious measures should be taken order improve patients.

Background: Glaucoma is a progressive optic neuropathy and is one of the leading causes of blindness worldwide. Different factors have been contributed in the pathogenesis of glaucoma including H. pylori infection. Objective: To determine the levels of anti-H. pylori IgG antibody in the aqueous humor of patients with pseudoexfoliation and primary open angle glaucoma, in comparison with age and ...

In India, mutations in Cytochrome P450 (CYP1B1) are a predominant cause of not only primary congenital glaucoma (PCG) but also involved in primary open angle glaucoma (POAG) and juvenile onset glaucoma (JOAG). After ethical clearance, 100 POAG patients, 30 primary angle closure glaucoma (PACG) patients and 130 ethnically matched controls were recruited in this study. Genomic DNA was is...
متن کاملPrimary angle-closure glaucoma
The picture of primary angle-closure glaucoma accompanied by its shallow anterior chamber is so distinct that for many years it has evoked considerable curiosity concerning possible genetic determination. Family trees were published (Sedan and Sedan-Bauby, 1949; Waardenburg, I96I) and attempts were made to fit the inheritance into a genetic pattern-but without convincing success. Authors seemed...
