QTL Mapping of Mesocotyl Elongation and Confirmation of a QTL in Dongxiang Common Wild Rice in China

Direct-seeded rice (DSR) cultivation is an effective and important way to resolve agricultural labor scarcity, water scarcity high production cost issues. Mesocotyl elongation (ME) the main driver of rapid emergence seedlings from soil indicator suitability varieties for direct seeding. Hence, discovering ME-related genes particularly breeding suitable In this study, a chromosome segment substitution line (CSSL) population generated cross between Dongxiang common wild Nipponbare (Nip) was used map quantitative trait loci (QTLs) ME. The QTL qML6-1 associated ME mapped location markers DX-C6-2 DX-C6-4, which consistent previously qML6. had LOD score 8.45 explained 30.56% detected in study provide promising targets further genetic characterization use marker-assisted selection develop improved DSR.
