QTL Analysis of Rice Grain Size Using Segregating Populations Derived from the Large Grain Line

چکیده
Grain size affects the yield and quality of rice. The large grain line (LGL), showing a japonica-like genome, was selected in breeding field. 94 F2 plants derived from cross between LGL Hanareum (a high-yielding tongil-type variety) were used for quantitative trait loci (QTL) analysis length (GL), width (GW), thickness (GT). A linkage map population, covering 1312 cM all 12 chromosomes, constructed using 123 Fluidigm SNP markers. total nine QTLs three traits detected on chromosomes two, three, four, six, seven. Two GL two six explained 17.3% 16.2% phenotypic variation, respectively. identified GW 24.3% 23.5% five GT five, seven, 13.2%, 14.5%, 16.6%, 10.9%, 10.2% novel QTL GT, qGT2, validated same region chromosome F3 population. this study, LGL, could be applied to development large-grain rice varieties.

Characterization of Unique Small RNA Populations from Rice Grain
Small RNAs (approximately 20 to 24 nucleotides) function as naturally occurring molecules critical in developmental pathways in plants and animals. Here we analyze small RNA populations from mature rice grain and seedlings by pyrosequencing. Using a clustering algorithm to locate regions producing small RNAs, we classified hotspots of small RNA generation within the genome. Hotspots here are de...

Grain quality currently represents a major problem in high yielding rice production in Iran and many other rice producing areas of the world. Quality assessment of rice involves the function of sensory tests and physicochemical determinations based on the chemical composition, cooking quality, gelatinization temperature and physical properties of cooked rice. These research genetic materials we...

متن کاملA large-effect QTL for grain weight in rice on chromosome 10
Grain yield of the rice can be enhanced through genetic manipulation of the yield components. Thousand grain weight is an important component which can be improved through conventional as well as molecular breeding approach. A major effect novel genomic region, TGW10, for high grain weight was identified through a bulked segregant analysis approach in Azucena × IR64 population. Markers associat...
