QGP modification to single inclusive jets in a calibrated transport model

چکیده

A bstract We study inclusive jet suppression and modifications in the quark-gluon plasma (QGP) with a transport-based model. The model includes vacuum-like parton shower evolution at high-virtuality, linearized transport for jet-medium interactions, simple ansatz jet-induced hydrodynamic response of medium. Model parameters are calibrated to nuclear modification factors hadron $$ {R}_{AA}^h R AA h single jets {R}_{AA}^j j cone size R = 0 . 4 0–10% central Au-Au Pb-Pb collisions measured RHIC LHC. consistently describes cone-size dependent ( ), fragmentation functions shape. discuss origin these by analyzing medium-induced energy flow this elucidate interplay hard medium response. Single parameter quasi-particle model for QGP

We discuss a new single parameter quasi-particle model and study the thermodynamics of (2+1)-flavor quark gluon plasma (QGP). Our model with a single parameter explains remarkably well the lattice simulation results of Fodor et. al. [1]. PACS Nos : 12.38.Mh, 12.38.Gc, 05.70.Ce, 52.25.Kn

N jettiness: an inclusive event shape to veto jets.

Jet vetoes are essential in many analyses at the LHC and Tevatron. Typical signals have a specific number of hard jets or leptons, while backgrounds have additional jets. Vetoing undesired jets efficiently discriminates signal and background. For a sample with ≥N jets, the veto to give N energetic jets defines an "exclusive" N-jet cross section. This strongly restricts the phase space and cause...

Quasi-particle model of QGP - a revisit

The quasi-particle model of quark gluon plasma (QGP) is revisited here with a new method, different from earlier studies, without the need of temperature dependent bag constant as well as other effects such as confinement effects, effective degrees of freedom etc. Our model has only two system dependent parameters and surpraisingly good fit to lattice results for gluon plasma, 2-flavor and 3-fl...

QGP Susceptibilities from PNJL Model

Under the extreme conditions of temperature and/or density a phase transition is expected in the QCD phase diagram. In fact, there are two phase transitions at these extreme conditions, namely the confinement to deconfinement phase transition and the chiral phase transition. These two phase transitions are defined in two extreme quark mass limits. For infinite quark mass limit confinement to de...
