Pyrolysis Study of Different Fruit Wastes Using an Aspen Plus Model

چکیده

Large quantities of fruit wastes are generated during the consumption and processing fruits. The disposal in an environmentally benign way is a challenging task. biochar production from by pyrolysis receiving huge attention because it can alleviate pollution provide supply sustainably. In this study, five waste types—orange peel, banana mango endocarp, apricot kernel shell, date pits—are examined. An Aspen Plus simulation tool was employed to develop steady-state model predict product yields wastes. details proximate elemental analyses were applied as input parameters model, carried out at 300–600°C 1 atm pressure. Among wastes, pits presented highest char yield (50.92 wt.%), while endocarp offered syngas (54.23 wt.%). From results, be inferred that best suited for production, whereas orange peel appropriate generation. study further analyzed studying optimization biomass feedstock blend relative bio-oil syngas. results demonstrate shell dominate blend. It hoped current outcomes will helpful selection feedstocks generation through pyrolysis.

Thermodynamic Study of Hot Potassium Carbonate Solution Using Aspen Plus

This paper presents a study on the thermodynamics and transport properties of hot potassium carbonate aqueous system (HPC) using electrolyte non-random two liquid, (ELECNRTL) model. The operation conditions are varied to determine the system liquid phase stability range at the standard and critical conditions. A case study involving 30 wt% K2CO3, H2O standard system at pressure of 1 bar and tem...

Characterization of chars produced in the co-pyrolysis of different wastes: decontamination study.

The present work is devoted to the study of the decontamination of chars obtained in the co-pyrolysis of plastics, biomass and tyre wastes. The chars were extracted with several organic solvents of different polarities either individually or in sequence. The ability of each selected extractant to remove toxic pollutants was evaluated by comparing the extraction yields and by characterizing the ...

Two Phase Modeling of Char Combustion in a Circulating Fluidized Bed Reactor Using ASPEN PLUS

In this paper, combustion of char in the riser of circulating fluidized bed was modeled using ASPEN PLUS. Since physical and chemical phenomena are involved in the process, the model integrates the two-phase hydrodynamic sub-model with the reaction sub-model derived from the literature. In the proposed model, the fluidized bed is divided into several sections and the behavior of each section wa...

Pyrolysis Characteristics and Kinetics of Food Wastes

Pyrolysis is an environmental friendly alternative method compared with incineration, and the least time-consuming and smallest infrastructure footprint method compared with bio-chemical and thermo-chemical conversion. Baseline data for the pyrolysis of food waste was obtained in a kinetic study of the thermal decompositions by thermogravimetric analysis. To simulate the difference in the types...
