چکیده
Virtual reality (VR) headsets with an integrated eye tracker enable the measurement of pupil size fluctuations correlated cognition during a VR experience. We present method to correct for light-induced changes, otherwise masking more subtle cognitively-driven effects, such as cognitive load and emotional state. explore multiple calibration sequences find individual mapping functions relating luminance dilation that can be employed in real-time The resulting are evaluated VR-based n-back task free exploration six-degrees-of-freedom scene. Our results show estimating from weighted average fixation area background yields best performance. Calibration sequence composed either solid gray or realistic scene brightness levels shown 6 s pseudo-random order proved most robust.

Abnormal pupillary light reflex with chromatic pupillometry in Gaucher disease
The hallmark of neuronopathic Gaucher disease (GD) is oculomotor abnormalities, but ophthalmological assessment is difficult in uncooperative patients. Chromatic pupillometry is a quantitative method to assess the pupillary light reflex (PLR) with minimal patient cooperation. Thus, we investigated whether chromatic pupillometry could be useful for neurological evaluations in GD. In our neuronop...
متن کاملEffect of Topical Anti-Glaucoma Medications on Late Pupillary Light Reflex, as Evaluated by Pupillometry
PURPOSE The late post-illumination pupillary response (PIPR 10-30s ) to blue light is reduced in glaucoma, suggesting that pupillometry can be used in clinical glaucoma evaluation. Since animal studies have indicated that common anti-glaucomatous agents affect the iris muscle, we investigated the short-term effect of the anti-glaucoma drugs on the pupillary light reflex and in particular on the...
متن کاملThe pupillary light reflex in normal subjects.
In 19 normal subjects the pupillary reflex to light was studied over a range of stimulus intensities by infrared electronic pupillography and analysed by a computer technique. Increasing stimulus intensity was associated with an increase in direct light reflex amplitude and maximum rate of constriction and redilatation. Latency from stimulus to onset of response-decreased with increasing stimul...
متن کاملHypersensitive pupillary light reflex in infants at risk for autism
BACKGROUND Post mortem brain tissue data and animal modeling work indicate cholinergic disruptions in autism. Moreover, the cholinergic system plays a key role in the early neurodevelopmental processes believed to be derailed early in life in individuals with the disorder. Yet, there is no data from human infants supporting a developmentally important role of this neurotransmitter system. Becau...
متن کاملPupillary light reflex to light inside the natural blind spot
When a light stimulus covers the human natural blind spot (BS), perceptual filling-in corrects for the missing information inside the BS. Here, we examined whether a filled-in surface of light perceived inside the BS affects the size of the short-latency pupillary light reflex (PLR), a pupil response mediated by a subcortical pathway for unconscious vision. The PLR was not induced by a red surf...
