چکیده

Purpose: The present study aims to assess the combined effects of mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA) and iloprost when used as a pulp capping material on pulpal inflammation tertiary dentin formation compared with MTA alone in rat molar teeth. Methods: Eighty maxillary first teeth were exposed capped solution, MTA, or mixed (MTA-iloprost). cavities then filled resin-modified glass ionomer. cavity was restored ionomer without use agent control group. rats sacrificed after one four weeks. Block sections specimens prepared subjected hematoxylin eosin staining for evaluation. Statistical analysis done using Kruskal–Wallis test, followed by Dunnett’s test. Results: At week one, group showed significantly more severe inflammatory reactions than (p = 0.00), 0.04), MTA-iloprost 0.00) groups. Hard tissue commonly found iloprost, After weeks, degeneration observed Complete hard barriers 50%, 72.7%, 77.8% groups, respectively, no significant differences among experimental dentinal tubule patterns mostly regular irregular Conclusions: application resulted similar responses mechanically molars. Therefore, mixing might not be clinically significant.

Direct pulp capping with mineral trioxide aggregate: an observational study.

BACKGROUND Pulp capping in carious teeth has been considered unpredictable and therefore contraindicated. A recently developed material, mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA), resists bacterial leakage and may provide protection for the pulp, allowing repair and continued pulp vitality in teeth when used in combination with a sealed restoration. METHODS Forty patients aged 7 to 45 years accepted p...

Pulp Response following Direct Pulp Capping with Dentin Adhesives and Mineral Trioxide Aggregate; An Animal Study

INTRODUCTION Pulp vitality and its continuous dentin prodution are essential for long-term success of direct pulp capping (DPC). The aim of present study was to evaluate the histopathological response of the canine pulp following DPC using either different dentin adhesive resins (DAR), calcium hydroxide (CH) or mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA). METHODS AND MATERIALS DPC was done on 72 dog's t...

Clinical evaluation of mineral trioxide aggregate and biodentine as direct pulp capping agents in carious teeth

BACKGROUND Root canal treatment has been a routine treatment option for carious exposure of the dental pulp. In the context of minimally invasive dentistry, direct pulp capping (DPC) procedure with a reliable biomaterial may be considered as an alternative provided the pulp status is favorable. Mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA), a bioactive cement with excellent sealing ability and biocompatibil...
