Pulmonary veno-occlusive disease: a rare and enigmatic cause of pulmonary hypertension—a case report

Abstract Background Pulmonary veno-occlusive disease (PVOD) is a rare form of pulmonary hypertension characterized by remodelling the venules. PVOD and arterial share similar clinical presentation. It important to differentiate between these two conditions as carries worse prognosis life-threatening oedema may occur following initiation conventional therapy. Case presentation We are reporting case in middle-aged lady who presented with hemoptysis features right heart failure. After extensive work up, no definite aetiology could be found out. Standard therapy did not cause any symptomatic improvement. catheterization, we got pre capillary along typical findings HRCT scan thorax established PVOD. try lung biopsy procedure often lands up complications. As arrange for transplant eventually lost patient. Conclusions High suspicion thorough systematic evaluation helped us diagnose this case. Thus, early diagnosis should primary aim suspected cases so that can prepare at earliest.
