Liver cirrhosis is a common long‑term outcome of chronic hepatic inflammation. Patients with liver may also have pulmonary complications. There are several reasons for dysfunction in cirrhosis, including intrinsic cardiopulmonary unrelated to disease and specific disorders related the presence and/or portal hypertension. The most prevalent clinically significant complications hydrothorax, hepatopulmonary syndrome, spontaneous empyema portopulmonary Pulmonary function tests (PFTs) traditionally been used assess lung patients cirrhosis.
