Abstract This chapter includes an overview of foundational psychodrama theories—action theory, catharsis, and surplus reality. The three phases a group (warm-up, enactment, sharing) the five elements (stage, protagonist, director, auxiliary egos, audience/group) are described. Morenean philosophy sociometric theory revisited as they relate to psychodrama. similar social work underlined including importance mutual aid, spontaneity, creativity, empowerment, self-determination, interpersonal skills, relationships, stages, roles.
