Pseudomonas putida KT2440 induces drought tolerance during fruit ripening in tomato

چکیده
The current study investigated the effects of Pseudomonas putida strain KT2440 on drought tolerance tomato plants during fruit maturation. Plants at ripening stage mature-green were not watered for 20 days to promote stress. Concentrations photosynthetic pigments determined. Bacteria-soaked (BSS) had higher levels chlorophyll and carotenoids than non-soaked (DWS) under stress conditions. Compared DWS, stomatal conductance, lipid peroxidation, hydrogen peroxide content in BSS decreased ascorbate peroxidase (APX), catalase (CAT), (POD) activities increased compared DWS Furthermore, number weight fruits both was reduced by stress, but reduction lower plants. These results showed that bacteria treatment conferred reducing peroxidation extent polar lipids (PLs), increasing pigment content, antioxidant enzymes leaves. Therefore, P. has supported high yield as a biotic elicitor this plant

Amino acid racemization in Pseudomonas putida KT2440.
D-Amino acids have been shown to play an increasingly diverse role in bacterial physiology, yet much remains to be learned about their synthesis and catabolism. Here we used the model soil- and rhizosphere-dwelling organism Pseudomonas putida KT2440 to elaborate on the genomics and enzymology of d-amino acid metabolism. P. putida KT2440 catabolized the d-stereoisomers of lysine, phenylalanine, ...
متن کاملFruit cuticle lipid composition during development in tomato ripening mutants.
Recent studies suggest that fruit cuticle is an important contributing factor to tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) fruit shelf life and storability. Moreover, it has been hypothesized that variation in fruit cuticle composition may underlie differences in traits such as fruit resistance to desiccation and microbial infection. To gain a better understanding of cuticle lipid composition diversity dur...
متن کاملRegulation of tomato fruit ripening
Fruit ripening is a sophisticatedly orchestrated developmental process, unique to plants, that results in major physiological and metabolic changes, ultimately leading to fruit decay and seed dispersal. Because of their strong impact on fruit nutritional and sensory qualities, the ripeningassociated changes have been a matter of sustained investigation aiming at unravelling the molecular and ge...
متن کاملChanges in Gene Expression during Tomato Fruit Ripening.
Total proteins from pericarp tissue of different chronological ages from normally ripening tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill. cv Rutgers) fruits and from fruits of the isogenic ripening-impaired mutants rin, nor, and Nr were extracted and separated by sodium dodecylsulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. Analysis of the stained bands revealed increases in 5 polypeptides (94, 44, 34, 20, ...
