Pseudometrics, distances and multivariate polynomial inequalities
We discuss three natural pseudodistances and pseudometrics on a bounded domain in IR based on polynomial inequalities.
متن کاملMultivariate Markov Polynomial Inequalities and Chebyshev Nodes
This article considers the extension of V. A. Markov’s theorem for polynomial derivatives to polynomials with unit bound on the closed unit ball of any real normed linear space. We show that this extension is equivalent to an inequality for certain directional derivatives of polynomials in two variables that have unit bound on the Chebyshev nodes. We obtain a sharpening of the Markov inequality...
متن کاملMultivariate Polynomial Inequalities via Pluripotential Theory and Subanalytic Geometry Methods
In this paper, we give a state-of-the-art survey of investigations concerning multivariate polynomial inequalities. A satisfactory theory of such inequalities has been developed due to applications of both the Gabrielov-Hironaka-Ã Lojasiewicz subanalytic geometry and pluripotential methods based on the complex Monge-Ampère operator. Such an approach permits one to study various inequalities for...
متن کاملOn Bernstein Type Inequalities for Complex Polynomial
In this paper, we establish some Bernstein type inequalities for the complex polynomial. Our results constitute generalizations and refinements of some well-known polynomial inequalities.
متن کاملPolynomial Inequalities
Our main result is that every n-dimensional polytope can be described by at most (2n− 1) polynomial inequalities and, moreover, these polynomials can explicitly be constructed. For an n-dimensional pointed polyhedral cone we prove the bound 2n− 2 and for arbitrary polyhedra we get a constructible representation by 2n polynomial inequalities.
