Study of Radiative Capture Reactions in the Astrophysical P-process
The cross sections of 70 Ge(;) 74 Se and 144 Sm(;) 148 Gd reactions have been measured over the bombarding energy ranges of 5.05 MeV<E <7.80 MeV and 10.5 MeV<E <13.4 MeV, respectively. The results are compared to statistical model calculations. The importance of further reaction studies is emphasized.
متن کاملGround-state proton decay of 69Br and implications for the 68Se astrophysical rapid proton-capture process waiting point.
We report on the first direct measurement of the proton separation energy for the proton-unbound nucleus (69)Br. Bypassing the (68)Se waiting point in the rp process is directly related to the 2p-capture rate through (69)Br, which depends exponentially on the proton separation energy. We find a proton separation energy for (69)Br of Sp((69)Br )= -785(-40)(+34) keV; this is less bound compared t...

The radiative alpha capture reaction cross section was measured from E c.m. = 16.09 MeV down to E c.m. = 11.21 MeV, close to the astrophysically relevant region (which lies between 7.8 and 11.48 MeV at 3 GK stellar temperature). The 162 Er(...

The proton capture cross sections of the two most proton rich, stable isotopes of Cadmium have been measured for the first time in the energy range relevant to the astrophysical p–process between Ep=2.4 and 4.7MeV. The Cd(p,γ)In and Cd(p,γ)In cross sections have been determined using the activation technique. Highly enriched as well as natural Cd targets have been irradiated with proton beams f...
