TOR 1 requests annual descriptive epidemiological analysis spread impact ASF in domestic pig wild boar populations affected EU Member States neighbouring countries. presents interpretation TOR, questions elements mandate, data methods chosen to address those questions. The reports be produced from 2023 2028 will include six different sources address: i) surveillance activities performed their performance; iii) spatial temporal dynamics disease last year, pigs populations.

Epidemiological Overview of African Swine Fever in Uganda (2001–2012)
African swine fever (ASF) is a contagious viral disease, which can cause up to 100% mortality among domestic pigs. In Uganda there is paucity of information on the epidemiology of the disease, hence a study was carried out to elucidate the patterns of ASF outbreaks. Spatial and temporal analyses were performed with data collected monthly by the district veterinary officers (DVOs) and sent to th...

For the global pig industry, classical (CSF) and African swine fever (ASF) outbreaks are a constantly feared threat. Except for Sardinia, ASF was eradicated in Europe in the late 1990s, which led to a research focus on CSF because this disease continued to be present. However, ASF remerged in eastern Europe in 2007 and the interest in the disease, its control and epidemiology increased tremendo...

African swine fever is viral disease of domestic and wild pigs which leads to almost total mortality and causes great economic losses due to absence of vaccine. Having been introduced into the Russian Federation in 2007 the disease has spread widely in the southern region of the country and since 2011 has demonstrated a tendency to form a secondary endemic zone in the central part of the countr...

As it is well known, successful vaccination in many viral diseases was reached by classical empirical approaches: attenuated or inactivated virus-based vaccines, viral protein immunization, etc. However, previous attempts to develop vaccines against ASFV have not reached expectations and the reasons of several vaccination failures are unknown yet. Then, a deeper knowledge of basic virology ques...
متن کاملAfrican swine fever.
African swine fever (ASF) is a devastating haemorrhagic fever of pigs that causes up to 100% mortality, for which there is no vaccine. It is caused by a unique DNA virus that is maintained in an ancient cycle between warthogs and argasid ticks, making it the only known DNA arbovirus. ASF has a high potential for transboundary spread, and has twice been transported from Africa to other continent...
