چکیده
This study was conducted with the aim of evaluating effect protein-energy supplementation on productive performance, intake, digestibility, and microbial protein synthesis in heifers fed tropical forage. Twelve Nellore at 11 months age, a mean initial body weight 248.8 ± 11.40 kg were used. The animals distributed completely randomized design two treatments six replicates. evaluated were: control (without supplementation); amount 1.5 animal-1 day-1. Forage samples collected to evaluate chemical composition total availability dry matter pasture consumed by animals. To intake forage trial performed using internal external markers. In this no observed intakes (DM), organic (OM), DM, or neutral detergent fiber corrected for ash (NDFap; P > 0.10). However, increased (P < 0.01) crude (CP), ether extract (EE), non-fibrous carbohydrates (NFC). Additionally, an upward trend (P=0.076) digested OM (DOM) supplementation. On other hand, digestibility coefficients OM, CP, EE, NFC, although did not affect ruminal nitrogen compounds (MICN), efficiency (EMS), relative (RMICN) urine urea (UUN) excretion 0.57). Lastly, (P=0.050) average daily gain animals, 0.10) their final weight. These results suggested that improves performance nutritional characteristics grazing beef heifers.

متن کاملEffects of Dietary Protein and Energy Levels on Productive and Reproductive Performance of Lactating Buffaloes
Twenty eight lactating buffaloes were used in a completely randomized design with 2×2 factorial arrangement of four experimental diets including low protein–low energy (LP-LE), low protein–high energy (LP-HE), high protein–low energy (HP-LE) and high protein–high energy (HP-HE). Results showed that the HP-HE diet recorded the highest digestibility coefficients of CP, EE, NFE, nutritive values, ...

Six experiments were conducted to investigate the effect of a feed supplement on the performance of grazing Belgian Blue double-muscled (BBDM) heifers with an initial weight and age of 195 ± 43 kg and 190 ± 52 days. Treatments included were: Exp. 1: supplementation with beet pulp (BP): 2 kg/day per head v. ad libitum intake; Exp. 2: supplementation ad libitum with BP v. a mixture of BP and soyb...
متن کاملTrace Mineral Supplementation of Grazing Beef Cattle
The nutrient quality of forage, particularly perennial warm-season grasses, is often lacking in trace mineral content to supply the requirements of most all classes of grazing cattle. Since forage is the most significant contributor to the trace mineral nutrition of grazing beef cattle, it is important to consider these deficits and how they may impact the performance of the cattle consuming th...
