Protective Effects of Bacillus subtilis HH2 against Oral Enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli in Beagles

چکیده
This study evaluated the protective effect of Bacillus subtilis HH2 on beagles orally challenged with enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli (ETEC). We assessed physiological parameters and severity diarrhea, as well changes in three serum immunoglobulins (IgG, IgA, IgM), plasma diamine oxidase (DAO), D-lactate (D-LA), fecal microbiome. Feeding B. significantly reduced diarrhea after ETEC challenge (p < 0.05) increased levels IgG, IgM 0.01). administration also DAO at 48 h 0.05), but no significant were observed D-LA > 0.05). Oral richness diversity gut microbiota not pre-fed while feeding oral altered structure Moreover, 14 days relative abundance Deinococcus-Thermus feces. reveals that alleviates caused by ETEC, enhances non-specific immunity, reduces ETEC-induced damage to intestinal mucosa, regulates composition.

An LTB-entrapped protein in PLGA nanoparticles preserves against enterotoxin of enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli
Objective(s): Enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli (ETEC) is known as the most common bacterial causes of diarrheal diseases related to morbidity and mortality. Heat-labile enterotoxin (LT) is a part of major virulence factors in ETEC pathogenesis. Antigen entrapment into nanoparticles (NPs) can protect them and enhance their immunogenicity.Materials and Methods: In the present study, recombinant L...
متن کاملHeterologous Bacillus subtilis-Escherichia coli Gene Fusion
Translational coupling was demonstrated in a gene fusion in which the promoter and the N-terminal region of the Bacillus subtilis subtilisin (aprA) gene were fused to a promoterless Tn9-derived chloramphenicol acetyltransferase (CAT; EC 2.3.1.28) gene. Expression of this gene fusion results in the production of a native-sized CAT product, whereas the Tn9-derived CAT gene is usually not translat...
متن کاملImmunogenic Evaluation of Bivalent Vaccine Candidate against Enterohemorrhagic and Enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli
Background: Caused by bacterial, viral, and parasitic pathogens, diarrhea is the second leading cause of death among children under five. Two strains of E. coli, namely Enterotoxigenic, ETEC and Enterohemorrhagic EHEC are the most important causes of this disease in developing countries. EHEC is a major causative agent of bloody diarrhea and hemorrhag...
متن کاملImmunogenicity and Protective Efficacy against Enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli Colonization following Intradermal, Sublingual, or Oral Vaccination with EtpA Adhesin.
Enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli (ETEC) strains are a common cause of diarrhea. Extraordinary antigenic diversity has prompted a search for conserved antigens to complement canonical approaches to ETEC vaccine development. EtpA, an immunogenic extracellular ETEC adhesin relatively conserved in the ETEC pathovar, has previously been shown to be a protective antigen following intranasal immunizat...
