چکیده
The properties of hydroxyapatite (HAp) obtained from tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) bones and its potential use as a dye adsorbent using methyl orange (MO) model were evaluated. HAp was produced by the calcination dried at 900 °C for 4 h. Then, characterized thermogravimetric (TGA) differential (dTG) analyses, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) energy dispersive (EDS), transmission (TEM), x-ray diffraction (XRD), among others. used MO adsorption in batch process. yield 51.6%. FTIR showed characteristic bands functional groups [OH- (PO4)3-]. FESEM images with different morphologies porous surface. EDS analysis indicated presence calcium phosphorus an atomic ratio Ca/P 1.60, TEM revealed formation agglomerates average particle size 655.1 nm. β-tricalcium phosphate (β-TCP) phases identified through XRD. point zero charge (pHpzc) 9.7 indicating possible anionic dyes pH< pHpzc cationic pH> pHpzc. able to successfully adsorb 82.6% aqueous solution. These findings demonstrated that (O. possesses suitable be material remove dyes.

Tol2-mediated transgenesis in tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus).
The Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) is an important species in aquaculture and an excellent model system for laboratory studies. Functional genetic analysis using this species has been difficult because existing methods for producing transgenics are inefficient. Here we show that the Tol2 transposon system can be used to create transgenic tilapia with high efficiency. We constructed a line...
متن کاملMetacercarial Infection of Wild Nile Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) from Brazil
Fingerlings of Oreochromis niloticus collected in an artificial urban lake from Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil, were evaluated for natural infection with trematodes. Morphological taxonomic identification of four fluke species was performed in O. niloticus examined, and the total prevalence of metacercariae was 60.7% (37/61). Centrocestus formosanus, a heterophyid found in the gills, was ...
متن کاملFunctionality and Antioxidant Properties of Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) as Influenced by the Degree of Hydrolysis
Freeze dried protein powders (Fresh minced meat, FMM and Hot water dip, HWD) from tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) were hydrolyzed by Alcalase 2.4 L (Alc), Flavourzyme (Flav) and Neutrase (Neut), and investigated for antioxidant activity and their functional properties. FMM and HWD hydrolysed by Alc, exhibiting superior antioxidant activity, had estimated degrees of hydrolysis (DH) of 23.40% and...

Interaction of Francisella asiatica with tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) innate immunity.
Members of the genus Francisella are facultative intracellular bacteria that cause important diseases in a wide variety of animals worldwide, including humans and fish. Several genes that are important for intramacrophage survival have been identified, including the iglC gene, which is found in the iglABCD operon in the Francisella sp. pathogenicity island (FPI). In the present study, we examin...
