چکیده
This article proposes a novel asymmetric continuous probabilistic score (ACPS) for evaluating and comparing density forecasts. It generalizes the proposed defines weighted version, which emphasizes regions of interest, such as tails or center variable’s range. The (weighted) ACPS extends symmetric CRPS by allowing asymmetries in preferences underlying scoring rule. A test is used to statistically compare predictive ability different general use any situation where decision-maker has evaluation In an artificial experiment, implications varying level asymmetry are illustrated. Proper Scoring Rules, Dominated Forecasts, and Coherence
De Finetti introduced the concept of coherent previsions and conditional previsions through a gambling argument and through a parallel argument based on a quadratic scoring rule. He shows that the two arguments lead to the same concept of coherence. When dealing with events only, there is a rich class of scoring rules which might be used in place of the quadratic scoring rule. We give condition...
متن کاملVariogram-based proper scoring rules for probabilistic forecasts
Proper scoring rules provide a theoretically principled framework for the quantitative assessment of the predictive performance of probabilistic forecasts. While a wide selection of such scoring rules for univariate quantities exists, there are only few scoring rules for multivariate quantities, and many of them require that forecasts are given in the form of a probability density function. The...

This note gives an easily verified necessary and sufficient condition for one probability forecaster to empirically outperform another one in terms of all strictly proper scoring rules.
متن کاملPartial Likelihood-Based Scoring Rules for Evaluating Density Forecasts in Tails
We propose new scoring rules based on partial likelihood for assessing the predictive accuracy of competing density forecasts over a specific region of interest, such as the left tail in financial risk management. These scoring rules are proper and can be interpreted in terms of Kullback-Leibler divergence between weighted versions of the density forecast and the true density. Existing scoring ...
