Propane selective carbon adsorbents from phenolic resin precursor

چکیده
Novel carbon adsorbents for propane/propylene separation, with an unprecedented adsorption selectivity to propane – the minority component were prepared from a phenolic resin precursor. The preparation conditions of molecular sieve adsorbents, such as pre-treatment phosphoric acid, carbonization and post-treatment propylene, carefully investigated concerning their role on separation performance. best performing sample, MFF_8, was characterized by SEM, FTIR small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS). It concluded that acid critical obtaining performance ratio ca. 2 at 1 bar 25 °C; this sample carbonized 1100 °C post-treated propylene during 12 days. SAXS analysis indicates rod-shaped pores MFF_8 bimodal size distribution averages 0.4 nm 3.7 nm, HRTEM images show network earthworm micropores. adsorbent assigned shape rigidity compared worming through constriction ultra-micropores network. To knowledge authors, is first time (CMS) reported. This new family CMS great potential equilibrium kinetic based separations adsorbates displaying different performances.

متن کاملimprovement in char formability of phenolic resin for development of carbon/carbon composites
in the processing of carbon/carbon composites using polymer resin as the matrix precursor, it is inevitable that a porous structure was formed after carbonization. as a result, densification by liquid phase impregnation followed by recarbonization is required to obtain a densified composite. consequently, the char formability of resin is an important factor in reducing the number of densificati...
متن کاملEffect of Hardener on Mechanical Properties of Carbon Fibre Reinforced Phenolic Resin Composites
In this paper the effect of hardener on mechanical properties of carbon reinforced phenolic resin composites is investigated. Carbon fibre is one of the most useful reinforcement materials in composites, its major use being the manufacture of components in the aerospace, automotive, and leisure industries. In this study, carbon fibres are hot pressed with phenolic resin with various percentages...
