Current-voltage characteristics and breakpoint phenomenon in intrinsic Josephson junctions

We review here our latest results on the investigation of the current-voltage characteristics and breakpoint phenomenon in the stacks with finite number of intrinsic Josephson junctions in layered superconductors.

Phonon assisted tunneling in Josephson junctions

The expression for additional subgap current in the presence of electron– phonon interaction is derived. We show that the phonon assisted tunneling leads to the appearance of peaks on current-voltage characteristics at the Josephson frequencies corresponding to the Raman-active phonons. The relation of the obtained results to the experimental observation are discussed. 72.20 Fg., 74.50.+r Types...

Static Charge Coupling of Intrinsic Josephson Junctions

Since the discovery of the intrinsic Josephson effect not only the typical properties of conventional junctions were demonstrated [1], but also unique and surprising features like the coupling of Josephson oscillations to phonons [2] have been discovered. There has also been a considerable interest in the influence of nonequilibrium effects on the I − V -characteristic and collective modes [3– ...

Dynamical Behaviour of Intrinsic Josephson Junctions

Intrinsic Josephson Junctions (IJJs) are the subject of much of research due to their potential applications as high frequency oscillators and detectors in the THz range. A number of previous studies use a single junction model to explain their observations, as no fully agreed model for coupled IJJs exists. The influence of one or more IJJs in the voltage state on other junctions in the IJJ arr...
