Prescribing by nurses and midwives continues to expand has consistently been evaluated as safe effective. This article is part one of two exploring the core professional, legal ethical dimensions prescribing. Reference made a contemporary prescribing model, RAPID-CASE, devised authors demonstrate application key practice principles.
