چکیده
A field experiment was conducted at Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi (2016-17) to evaluate the effect of crop establishment and weed management practices on productivity, economics resource-use efficiency direct-seeded rice (DSR). The treatments included three methods, viz. Zero-tillage-DSR+Sesbania co-culture (ZT-DSR+SCC), ZT-DSR+residue+Sesbania (ZT-DSR+R+SCC) Conventional till-DSR+Sesbania coculture (CT-DSR+SCC) assigned main-plots five practices, WMP1- pendimethalin (1000 g/ha) fb bispyribac-sodium (25 20 days after sowing (DAS), WMP2-pendimethalin pyrazosulfuron (30 DAS+1 hand weeding (HW) 45 DAS, WMP3- chlorimuron+metsulfuron (4+4 HW WMP4- Weed-free WMP5- Weedy check sub-plots. laid-out in a three-time replicated split-plot design. Results showed that, ZT-DSR+R+SCC recorded higher growth parameters, such as dry matter accumulation (DMA), leaf area index (LAI), yield attributes enhanced grain yield, net return water productivity by 16.9, 61.9 20% 11.0, 69.7 10.3% during 2016 2017, respectively over CT-DSR+SCC. Among DAS DMA, LAI, finally returns 31.9, 39.2 33.3% 35.7, 36.6 37.5% weedy check. Hence, along with could be adopted for DSR.

Effects of Seeding Time and Weed Control Methods in Direct Seeded Rice (oryza Sativa L.)
Field experiments were conducted during the 2 year period from 2008 and 2009 to determine the effects of three seeding dates and seven weed control methods in DSR. The results suggested that seeding in the first week of July reduced weed density and biomass, increased kernel weight, leaf area index, and kernel yield compared to seeding rice in the first week of July. Amongst weed control method...
متن کاملEffect of Weed Management and Seed Rate on Crop Growth under Direct Dry Seeded Rice Systems in Bangladesh
Weeds are a major constraint to the success of dry-seeded rice (DSR). The main means of managing these in a DSR system is through chemical weed control using herbicides. However, the use of herbicides alone may not be sustainable in the long term. Approaches that aim for high crop competitiveness therefore need to be exploited. One such approach is the use of high rice seeding rates. Experiment...
متن کاملResponse of Rice Genotypes to Weed Competition in Dry Direct-Seeded Rice in India
The differential weed-competitive abilities of eight rice genotypes and the traits that may confer such attributes were investigated under partial weedy and weed-free conditions in naturally occurring weed flora in dry direct-seeded rice during the rainy seasons of 2011 and 2012 at Ludhiana, Punjab, India. The results showed genotypic differences in competitiveness against weeds. In weed-free p...

As animal grazing has intensified within Kentucky and the surrounding region problematic weeds such as tall ironweed, spiny amaranth, horsenettle, buttercup, common cocklebur, and thistles have been increasing. These weeds become prominent in pastures because they have spines, thorns, or are unpalatable to animals. Animals selectively graze and avoid these weedy plants and with intensive grazin...
