Production of Quinoa Leafy Greens in High Tunnel for Season Extension in Missouri

There is limited information regarding the use of quinoa fresh leaves as a vegetable. Thus, objective this study was to promote green vegetable, well conduct season extension feasibility using high tunnels. The conducted during spring seasons 2020, 2021, and 2022 at George Washington Carver farm Lincoln University in Jefferson City, MO, USA. Three genotypes were used randomized complete block design (RCBD) with three replications over years. Agronomic data leaf nutritional analyses for young plants approximately 30 days old evaluated. Among genotypes, genotype Ames 13724 gave highest yield leafy greens consistent Additionally, tunnels served tool by accelerating production quality fruits vegetables outside typical growing seasons. results indicated that tunnel possible three-week earlier harvest early when fewer are available markets. Farmers can increase income selling specialty vegetable premium prices.
