Production of Chlorine Dioxide Using Hydrogen Peroxide and Chlorates

چکیده
Chlorine dioxide was produced by the reduction of chlorate with hydrogen peroxide in strongly acidic media. To avoid reaction interference during measuring procedures, UV spectra were acquired to monitor reduction. This led formation chlorine and notable concentrations chlorite hypochlorous acid/chlorine, suggesting that peroxide:chlorate ratio is important. Once chlorates are transformed dioxide, surplus promoted further chlorinated species down less-important species. Moreover, stripped outlet gas flow. A linear relationship established between amount limiting reagent consumed maximum height absorption peak at 360 nm after testing different ratios chlorate, allowing calculations formed. verify reproducibility method, a test four replicates conducted peroxide/chlorate solution where not due presence medium test. Results confirmed efficient this oxidant, 8.0 ± 0.33 mmol L?1 400–450 min conversion percentage 97.6%. Standard deviations 0.14–0.49 obtained oxidation (3.6–6.5% average), indicating good reproducibility.

A comparison of the bleaching effectiveness of chlorine dioxide and hydrogen peroxide on dental composite.
This study was carried out to verify if composites could be bleached using chlorine dioxide as compared with hydrogen peroxide. 3M ESPE Filtek Z350 Universal Restorative discs were prepared (n=40), with dimensions 5 mm diameter x 2 mm thickness. The discs were divided into 4 groups of 10 discs each. Color assessment was performed by CIEDE2000. The discs were stained with coffee, tea, wine and d...
متن کاملLow-temperature decontamination with hydrogen peroxide or chlorine dioxide for space applications.
The currently used microbial decontamination method for spacecraft and components uses dry-heat microbial reduction at temperatures of >110°C for extended periods to prevent the contamination of extraplanetary destinations. This process is effective and reproducible, but it is also long and costly and precludes the use of heat-labile materials. The need for an alternative to dry-heat microbial ...
متن کاملProduction of singlet oxygen by the reaction of non-basic hydrogen peroxide with chlorine gas.
Non-basic hydrogen peroxide was found to be very easy to react with Cl(2) to produce singlet oxygen O(2)(a(1)Δ(g)) (i.e. the molecular oxygen in its first electronic excited state) when an H(+) absorbent such as C(5)H(5)N, CH(3)COONH(4), HCOONH(4) or NH(4)F was added into H(2)O(2) aqueous solution, and the long concealed fact that molecular H(2)O(2) can react with Cl(2) to produce O(2)(a(1)Δ(g)...
