چکیده
Recently, degradable biopolymers have become increasingly important as potential environmentally friendly biomaterials, providing a wide range of applications in various fields. Bacterial exopolysaccharides (EPSs) are biomacromolecules, which due to their unique properties found biomedicine, foodstuff, textiles, cosmetics, petroleum, pharmaceuticals, nanoelectronics, and environmental remediation. One the commercial polysaccharides produced on an industrial scale is xanthan. In recent years, its application has expanded significantly. cellulose (BC) another EPS with rapidly increasing applications. Due great prospects for practical application, development highly efficient production remains task. The present review summarizes strategies cost-effective such biomacromolecules xanthan BC demonstrates first time common approaches obtaining new functional materials applications, including wound healing, drug delivery, tissue engineering, remediation, 3D bioprinting. end, we discuss limitations line future research.

Bacterial Exopolysaccharides: Functionality and Prospects
Diverse structural, functional and valuable polysaccharides are synthesized by bacteria of all taxa and secreted into the external environment. These polysaccharides are referred to as exopolysaccharides and they may either be homopolymeric or heteropolymeric in composition and of diverse high molecular weights (10 to 1000 kDa). The material properties of exopolysaccharides have revolutionized...
متن کاملExopolysaccharides enriched in rare sugars: bacterial sources, production, and applications
Microbial extracellular polysaccharides (EPS), produced by a wide range of bacteria, are high molecular weight biopolymers, presenting an extreme diversity in terms of chemical structure and composition. They may be used in many applications, depending on their chemical and physical properties. A rather unexplored aspect is the presence of rare sugars in the composition of some EPS. Rare sugars...

Background Reconstruction and applications of genome scale metabolic models have truly influenced the field of systems biology [1,2]. These models have a promising ability to describe cellular phenotypes accurately and to relate the annotated genome sequence to the physiological functions of a cell [3,4]. Gluconacetobacter has been extensively characterized and is a model system for cellulose b...
متن کاملProduction of bacterial cellulose from alternate feedstocks.
Production of bacterial cellulose by Acetobacter xylinum ATCC 10821 and 23770 in static cultures was tested from unamended food process effluents. Effluents included low-solids (LS) and high-solids (HS) potato effluents, cheese whey permeate (CW), or sugar beet raffinate (CSB). Strain 23770 produced 10% less cellulose from glucose than did strain 10821 and diverted more glucose to gluconate. Un...
متن کاملProduction of exopolysaccharides by Antarctic marine bacterial isolates.
AIMS This study was undertaken to examine and characterize Antarctic marine bacterial isolates and the exopolysaccharides (EPS) they produce in laboratory culture. METHODS AND RESULTS Two EPS-producing bacterial strains CAM025 and CAM036 were isolated from particulate material sampled from seawater and sea ice in the southern ocean. Analyses of 16S rDNA sequences placed these isolates in the ...
