Production of Antibacterial Compounds from Aspergillus terreus Against MDR Acinetobacter baumannii Using Co-culture

چکیده

Acinetobacter baumannii is a bacterial pathogen, associated with hospital and community acquired infections. It one of the most common, opportunistic, serious multidrug resistant bacteria (MDR). considered global problem. The use natural compounds such as fungal metabolites an alternative to antibiotics being explored overcome issue antimicrobial resistance. Among fifty spp. isolated from different sources, only Aspergillus terreus showed antibacterial effect against A. baumannii. Co-culture applied produce bioactive in higher amounts and/or induce production new secondary metabolites. Several solvents chromatographic techniques were used isolate, fractionate, purify terreus/ co-culture Ethyl acetate extract was potent MDR baumannii, comparison chloroform methanol extracts. Characterization structure elucidation purified compound ethyl performed using LC-MS, 1H NMR, IR. identified terreusinone A minimum inhibitory concentration 160 µg.µl-1against This first record determine particularly

Propolis as an Antibacterial Agent against Clinical Isolates of Mdr-acinetobacter Baumannii.

BACKGROUND Multidrug resistant (MDR) Acinetobacter baumannii has emerged as an important health care problem. The organism is now identified as an important nosocomial pathogen particularly in the intensive care settings. The therapeutic options to treat this pathogen are limited; thus it needs testing for alternatives, like those of plant origin or natural products. Propolis is one of such pro...

Genome sequence of Acinetobacter baumannii MDR-TJ.

Acinetobacter baumannii is a pathogenic species of bacteria, identified as an aerobic gram-negative bacterium, that is resistant to most antibiotics. In this study, the MDR-TJ strain was isolated at the Second Hospital of Tianjin Medical University, China, and was found to be resistant to penicillin, cephalosporins, aminoglycosides, quinolones, and also imipenem. The genome sequence of Acinetob...

Optimization of Antibacterial Compounds Production by Aspergillus fumigatus Isolated from Sudanese Indigenous Soil

The purposes of the present study were to screen the ability of Aspergillus fumigatus to produce antibacterial compounds using different growth parameters namely, pH, temperature, agitation and time of fermentation and investigate the effect of the yield against bacterial isolates. A. fumigatus was isolated from arable lands in Sudan and identified macroscopically and microscopically. The pure ...

Antimicrobial active herbal compounds against Acinetobacter baumannii and other pathogens

Bacterial pathogens cause a number of lethal diseases. Opportunistic bacterial pathogens grouped into ESKAPE pathogens that are linked to the high degree of morbidity, mortality and increased costs as described by Infectious Disease Society of America. Acinetobacter baumannii is one of the ESKAPE pathogens which cause respiratory infection, pneumonia and urinary tract infections. The prevalence...

Evaluation of antibacterial effect of Myrtus communis against Acinetobacter baumannii clinical strains

Because of inappropriate use of antibiotics and prevalence of resistant bacteria, there is urgentneed for antibacterial drugs that have fewer side effects than antibiotics. Myrtus communis is amedicinal plant which had many uses in traditional medicine. In this study, ethanol leave extractof this plant is tested on Acinetobacter baumannii. In the case of antimicrobial evaluation ofplants, one o...
