چکیده
While Malaysia produces about half of the world’s palm oil and is largest producer exporter worldwide, industries generate large amounts lignocellulosic biomass waste as a sub-product with no economic market value other than feedstock for energy valorisation. With aim to increase sustainability sector, in this work we prepare new materials CO2 capture from residues (empty fruit bunches kernels). The biochar obtained through carbonisation physically chemically activated produce porous materials. resulting microporous samples have similar properties commercial carbons, BET surfaces 320–880 m2/g range pore volumes 0.1–0.3 cm3·g−1. uptake at room temperature (AC) was 2.4–3.6 mmolCO2/gAC, whereas average 3.36–3.80 mmolCO2/gAC. amount adsorbed decreased highest temperature, expected due exothermic nature adsorption. These findings confirm high potential tree sustainable capture.

Characterization of Activated Carbons from Oil-Palm Shell by CO2 Activation with No Holding Carbonization Temperature
Activated carbons can be produced from different precursors, including coals of different ranks, and lignocellulosic materials, by physical or chemical activation processes. The objective of this paper is to characterize oil-palm shells, as a biomass byproduct from palm-oil mills which were converted into activated carbons by nitrogen pyrolysis followed by CO2 activation. The effects of no hold...
متن کاملCO2 Separation and Capture Properties of Porous Carbonaceous Materials from Leather Residues
Carbonaceous porous materials derived from leather skin residues have been found to have excellent CO₂ adsorption properties, with interestingly high gas selectivities for CO₂ (α > 200 at a gas composition of 15% CO₂/85% N₂, 273K, 1 bar) and capacities (>2 mmol·g-1 at 273 K). Both CO₂ isotherms and the high heat of adsorption pointed to the presence of strong binding sites for CO₂ which may be ...
متن کاملSupercritical Fluid Extraction of β-Carotene from Crude Palm Oil Using CO2 in a Bubbler Extractor: Mass Transfer Study
In this study, the diffusivity and volumetric mass transfer coefficients for the extraction of β-carotene from crude palm oil using CO2 solvent in supercritical fluid were determined in the pressure range of 7.5-17.5 MPa and temperature range of 80-120 ºC. For this purpose, a statistical method was applied in order to minimize the number of experiments required. The volumetric ma...
