Probe Ultrasonic-Assisted Extraction of Andrographolide Rich Extract from Andrographis paniculata: Processing Parameters Optimization Using Response Surface Methodology

The conventional extraction method has low efficiency. This study aims to optimize the ultrasonic-assisted conditions of andrographolide from A. paniculata. A ½ inch ultrasonic probe sonicator was used extract effects time (X1), duty cycle (X2) and amplitude (X3) on yield (Y) were investigated by using response surface methodology. Experiments designed according 3-level 3-factor Box Behnken Design. concentrations quantified high-performance liquid chromatography. Results analysis variance showed data well fitted with 2nd-order polynomial equation a R2 value 0.9969 p-value less than 0.005. Optimum found be at 5 min, 11 % cycle, 66 checkpoint experiment carried out based optimum conditions, validated highest 3.50 ± 0.17 w/w%. Response methodology successfully applied processing parameters for yielding andrographolide-rich paniculata extract. could relevant future scale-up andrographolide.
