چکیده
A better understanding of the mechanical performance and failure modes corroded reinforced concrete (RC) structures is crucial for implementing measures that reduce risk. Therefore, this paper proposes a probabilistic numerical framework to estimate structural identify as well main parameters affecting safety RC structures. This comprehensively combines experimental data, finite element method (FEM), polynomial chaos expansion (PCE) modeling. First, FEM analysis developed verified with 26-year-old beam. The investigated case considers effects corrosion degree bond behavior steel–concrete interface on properties mode Second, PCE surrogate models serviceability ultimate limit states are established by combining sampling technique (e.g., Sobol sequences) validated model. Finally, global sensitivity conducted using Several illustrative cases presented analyze, in deterministic manners, sensitivities material geometry characteristics both states. results study could provide useful insights under different scenarios.

Reliability Analysis of Corroded Reinforced Concrete Beams Using Enhanced HL-RF Method
Steel corrosion of bars in concrete structures is a complex process which leads to the reduction of the cross-section bars and decreasing the resistance of the concrete and steel materials. In this study, reliability analysis of a reinforced concrete beam with corrosion defects under the distributed load was investigated using the enhanced Hasofer-Lind and Rackwitz-Fiessler (EHL-RF) method base...
متن کاملA SENSITIVITY ANALYSIS FOR ENHANCING IDA EFFICIENCY IN FRAGILITY ANALYSIS OF 3D REINFORCED CONCRETE FRAMES
Due to several uncertainties which affect structural responses of Reinforced concrete (RC) frames, it is sensibly required to apply a vulnerability analysis tool such as fragility curve. To construct an analytical fragility curve, the incremental dynamic analysis (IDA) method has been extensively used as an applicable seismic analysis too...
متن کاملPrediction of Corrosion-Induced Crack Width of Corroded Reinforced Concrete Structures
This paper presents an experimental investigation on the crack width induced by the corrosion of reinforcing steel bars in concrete. Reinforcing steel bars with different diameters were corroded using an accelerated test in three types of concrete members, including 24 beams with corroded stirrup and 20 beams with corroded longitudinal reinforcing steel bars. The corrosion patterns and rusts ch...
متن کاملNumerical Analysis of Punching Shear Failure of Reinforced Concrete Slabs
Nearly no load bearing behaviour of reinforced concrete members allows such varied interpretations and complex discussions as the shear behaviour. Especially the three-dimensional problem of the punching shear failure of reinforced concrete members is internationally discussed. Nevertheless up to now, there is no unified design approach or even an overall accepted design model. Especially for l...
متن کاملFinite Element Analysis of Bond for Reinforced Concrete Structures
A high-resolution finite element model is developed using the MSC.Marc software package to investigate local bond behavior and the modeling of this behavior. In the model, interaction between concrete and steel is treated geometrically as contact between two separate bodies. Concrete is modeled as a homogenous material. A multiple, fixed, smeared crack model is used to simulate response in tens...
