Prevalence of Pregnancy-Induced Hypertension and Pregnancy Outcomes

Background: The most frequent medical comorbidity during pregnancy is hypertension, rendering an elevated menace of unfavorable outcomes for equally mother and infant. It a substantial public health concern, characterized by eclampsia, chronic preeclampsia. Objectives: study determined occurrence pregnancy-induced hypertension (PIH) outcomes, in the locality Pakistan. Methods: cross-sectional research appraised 05 districts Pakistan 2021-22. comprised 1920 patients affected with PIH. demographic characteristics, laboratory clinical values were recorded on approved questionnaire. Results: Prevalence PIH pregnant females area was as 13.70%. A significant proportion PIH-affected had genetic predisposition (51.14%), followed abortion history (15.52%), hormonal imbalance (9.94%), Cesarean section (7.50%) stillbirth (0.88%). Pregnancy outcome revealed that 16 (0.833%) women died PIH, 31 suffered from renal failure, 36 pulmonary edema, 4.06% abruptio placentae 103 HELLP syndrome. Similarly, neonatal complications 27 fetuses to mothers’ 111 asphyxia (5.78%) at time birth 13 infants abnormal different congenital anomalies. Practical implication: emphasized need improved prenatal care, early detection meticulous management condition order improve maternal especially high prevalence regions such Conclusion: frequency (13.70%) greater risk adverse outcomes.
