چکیده
Background and Aim: The Asian Working Group for Sarcopenia (AWGS) 2019 consensus defined sarcopenia as "age-related loss of muscle mass, plus low strength, and/or physical performance". Low mass is using height-adjusted on whole body dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) <7.0 kg/m2 in men <5.4 women. We looked at the prevalence a cohort cirrhotic patients DEXA Scan. aimed to assess adult with cirrhosis evaluated liver transplantation. Methods: Patient who attended transplant clinic between November 2021 May 2022 were included study. All underwent scan part pre-transplant evaluation. Height adjusted was recorded all patients. Demographic, biochemistry clinical parameters, etiology, CTP score, MELD-Na score Results: During study period 55 scan. Mean age 49.53 yrs (34-68). Most common etiology alcohol followed by NASH. Over 23.6%. more prevalent males (25%) than females (14.3%). In mean 26 (18-33) 12 (7-14). not statistically different without mass. Patients tend have advanced age, difficult control ascites. Conclusions: population, AWGS criteria be males, alcoholic

Prevalence and outcome of portal thrombosis in a cohort of cirrhotic patients undergoing liver transplantation.
INTRODUCTION The prevalence of portal vein thrombosis (PVT) in patients that have undergone liver transplantation (LT) is 9.7% (SD 4.5). The aim of our study was to determine the prevalence, assess the factors that are associated with PVT and clarify their association with prognosis in patients with liver cirrhosis (LC) and LT. AIMS AND METHODS From 2005 to 2014, laboratory, radiological and ...

Although coronary revascularization before noncardiac surgery has not been shown to reduce the risk of cardiac events, preoperative noninvasive screening for obstructive coronary artery disease (CAD) is commonly performed. Such testing is even more likely to be performed among patients who are candidates for organ transplantation. The rationale for such testing in candidates for organ transplan...
متن کاملMetabolic effects of liver transplantation in cirrhotic patients.
To assess whether liver transplantation (LTx) can correct the metabolic alterations of chronic liver disease, 14 patients (LTx-5) were studied 5+/-1 mo after LTx, 9 patients (LTx-13) 13+/-1 mo after LTx, and 10 patients (LTx-26) 26+/-2 months after LTx. Subjects with chronic uveitis (CU) and healthy volunteers (CON) were also studied. Basal plasma leucine and branched-chain amino acids were red...
