Prevalence of burnout among nurses practicing in the surgical departments of a Moroccan university hospital

Background: The aim of our study is to evaluate the prevalence burnout among nurses practicing in surgical units a Moroccan university hospital.Methods: This qualitative cross-sectional observational Conducted from July 2017 December working 12 hospital. Nurses provided self-administered questionnaire with socio-demographic and data using Maslach inventory.Results: Among 183 nursing nurses, 130 (82 women/48 men) completed questionnaires (71%). across all grades was 86.2% (low level: 33.8 %, moderate 46.2%, high 6.2%). High emotional exhaustion noted 95 (73.1%), level depersonalization 75 (57.7%) low personal accomplishment (9.2%). major were observed together 61 (46.9%). Women appeared more likely (p=0.03). visceral emergency unit, neurosurgery unit traumatology orthopedics seemed be affected by (p=0.002).Conclusions: worrying. Surgical whose activity much related emergencies are most exposed. A preventive therapeutic strategy needed reduce extent burnout.
