Prescribed drugs in 27 000 individuals after diagnosis of colorectal cancer: A population‐based cohort study

Background The prevalence of prescribed drugs in survivors colorectal cancer (CRC) was evaluated. Methods Data from the Cancer Registry Norway were linked to Norwegian Prescription Database for a study population 3.52 million individuals. Prevalence ratios (PRs) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs) CRC-survivors compared cancer-free population, estimated by log-binomial regression, adjusting age and education. Results Almost 27 000 individuals, aged 20 84, diagnosed CRC during 2005 2014. first year after diagnosis, higher especially anxiety tension, steroid-responsive conditions. PRs several drugs, used mental behavioural disorders, decreased time since diagnosis. tension elevated 10 years diagnosis; diagnosis (95% CI: 18-22) males 17 (16-18) females. Ten 5.0 (3.1-7.9) 2.0 (1.0-3.8), respectively. In absolute numbers, largest increase, gastric acid disorders pain. neuromodulatory CRC-survivors. Conclusions than excess disorder pain medications, while relative high Long persisting neuropathia indicated.
