Preparation of tetraethoxysilane to obtain spherical silica particles. Part 1. Ultrafiltration

چکیده

The paper considers the problem of instability tetraethoxysilane hydrolysis in an ethanol medium presence ammonia as a catalyst to obtain monodisperse spherical silica particles given size. This is associated with various impurities affecting rate particle formation and, consequence, their size, monodispersity and shape. To solve this problem, we present novel studies possible application ultrafiltration for initial through hydrophobic filters pore size 50 nm. In both cases, noted decreasing intensity light scattering after filtration. elemental analysis filtered showed significant content SiO2 solid phases tetraethoxysilane, number ethanol. experiments on synthesis from pre-filtered components that resulting had greater degree monodispersity, sizes were much more reproducible, regardless used tetraethoxysilane.
